Max Houtris is an up and coming musician currently attending the Cleveland Institute of Music under the tutelage of esteemed trombonist Massimo La Rosa, principal trombone of the Cleveland Orchestra as well as renowned bass trombonist, Randall Hawes of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. Max has had the privilege of playing in masterclasses with Joseph Alessi, Timothy Higgins, Douglas Yeo, Per Brevig, Christopher Davis, Jesper Juul, Brad Edwards, Daniel Perantoni, Michael Sachs, and Yasuhito Sugiyama among others. While his areas of study focus in classical training, Max is also involved in the Cleveland jazz scene, free lancing with combos and playing with big bands across the city. A certified Avid Pro Tools User, Max has combined his passion for music and media with videography to work on projects for the Lake Affect Arts organization, UNICEF and the YaMa Low Brass Seminar in Japan with members of the Cleveland Orchestra. Max's current projects include the creation of doineedamute.com and the development of his YouTube channel.
